They also have a similar product called a spring plunger, the kind of thing like a thumb screw where you turn and pull the knob to release.

Plug “knurled head bolt” into your google search, plus brass if you need that, and you’ll find plenty to choose from.

This screw looks very close although without the little bump on the end but I'd imagine that with a bit of lathe time with a file it could be modified to suit.

Thanks for all the input. It looks like everyone is finding the same things I have.

What I am really looking for is the ball end thumb screw. I think I did get them from Lee Valley, but they must have discontinued them.

Looks like I will have to make some myself.

I saw a few searching for ball end thumbscrew. Most were allen head cap screws with a crimped in ball (more $$$ I bet).

Then I tried ball dog end thumbscrew and came up with one with a plastic cap (sometimes those are just snapped on to a allen head cap btw), but a machined ball. Those were metric though.
