Small Box Hinges?

Lee Valley has some nice ones. They are 1"x5/8" but still look good even on a 4x6 box I make often.

Still a little on the pricey side, but not outrageous like Brusso.

Woodcraft used to stock these too. They are a nice hinge.

Wow. I have a pair of Brusso hinges still in the wrapping that I bought, oh, maybe 18 years ago. They seemed expensive then but maybe now they might be called an investment. Wonder what they'd fetch on eBay?

Ace Hardware solid brass hinges in 1 1/2" and 2" size. At about 5$ pr they are beefier and have the best hinge pins of any small hinge at that price point. I don't have the product # at hand but I can get it if needed.

yes brussos are expensive - wondering if any of the mentioned hinges are stop hinges.

for me a big plus for box making

Unfortunately those are too big for my application. But the Brusso's that I want are $10 less at Lee Valley.

That is my only complaint with those hinges, now and then I want one that is just a 1/3 smaller.

Nice that they have the Brusso's a bit cheaper though.

If you want to really go nuts, make your own hinges I used to do that when making boxes when I was avoiding college homework. I started with K&S tubing and soft solder, moved up to hard solder, and eventually made a couple out of sterling silver. Makes those Brusso's seem pretty reasonable
