Thoughts about "Little Free Library" construction? *LINK*

Been asked to build (and install) a "Little Free Library" in a local park.

I am going to take the plans and adapt them as necessary.

I have some metal roofing from our house (as well as the screws). I am going to build it mostly out of plywood and I will paint it. I am going to use polycarbonate as opposed to glass or plexiglass.

I was thinking about doing a ridge vent and covering the vent w/ screening (probably fiberglass) to keep out bugs. I was going to seal all the joints w/ white caulk before painting it.

Any other thoughts?

I did not make it, but the 'sponsor' asked if I would repair it. Door had been made out of plywood (routed from solid piece if I recall correctly), but the plywood lams failed at the bottom of the glass (despite being painted and the glass sealed being sealed with 'plenty of' silicone).

I built a new door of white oak, and after cracking the existing pane, installed new glass too; all painted. This door will out last carcass.
