Need help with motor question on Supermax sander

I have someone willing to give me an older but hardly used Supermax 37 sander. It's currently set up for 3 Phase. Would I be better to put a 220 single phase motor on it or get a converter and leave it as is? I'm not an electrician so thank you for your input!

I think a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) is likely the best solution for a home shop with a single 3 phase machine, If the plan is to have several 3 phase machine then you want a RFC (Rotary Phase Converter)
The question in my mind is about how to power small motor?
