SW has about 7 grades of interior wall paint (not that I have ever counted).

Comparisons need to be made among at least comparable cost paints.

I don't know of any flat wall paints that will be good for cleaning scuffs (they are like sandpaper).

I like SW paints the most (they build fast/cover well, and you just more or less lay them on and don't have to play much with them), but that said, they also are one of the least durable in my experience (which only comes into question if something runs into them). In my house, even with paint that was installed over primer in new construction, they will give way due to kid impact (toys running into them, etc) and need touch up.

Consumer Reports always rates BM or Behr near/at the top. Behr usually costs less.

I wouldn't go w/ a flat paint for ease of cleaning. A satin (AKA eggshell) finish is recommended for that.

My personal preferences for paint are either Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams satin finish w/ a slight preference for Sherwin Williams.

Paint manufacturers reformulate with such frequency that historical information may be unreliable.

Cost will be an indication. The more durable chemistry costs more to make.

I used BM many years ago and was amazed on the quality of the product (finishing paint).
