Miter saw storage?

My CMS is on its stand.
I typically leave it in an unheated garage as that's where I break down the lumber before I take it around the house to the basement.
I am contemplating possibly moving it to the shed.
While it doesn't get TOO cold here - it sometimes approaches 0 F.
I haven't had any problems storing it in the garage, AFAIK - but I was wondering about the shed.

I had mine stored in an unheated storage area for almost a year. I was under my shop in a block constructed room. Concrete floor, this was in OH and it was my second SCM. The blade rusted along with a few other little parts. It works like a champ still. Humidity is a problem in the shed. If it is not in your region then you should be good.

I’ve had my Makita scms in my garage for nigh unto 20 years with no ill effects. We hit 0°F frequently in the shop.

I suspect that temperature is not a major concern. Moisture and rust will do a number on tools.

Like Bruce, those of us who live north of the Snow Line might consider zero degrees a warm shop.
When it's cold I'm very careful of how cords and plastic parts are handled. The cheaper the tool the more careful I am. My name brand power tools all seem to have cold-friendly cords that flex. The cheapies never get coiled.
In the spring I might have to clean up a bit of surface rust on my cast iron tablesaw. That's only after I've forgotten to buff in some wax the fall before.
