Example. I did this tonight just coloring the collet OD with a marker. The pic below is my Porter Cable 6902 with a 1/4 collet and a bit that mics .249"
The black marks (on the inside of the spindle) are even at the top and bottom of the spindle. The rubs marks are even on the collet.
