Picture frame AR glass question

It was suggested to me that a cheap source of picture frame glass was garage sales and second hand stores. Not necessarily for the picture or the frame, but for the glass. I would want only anti-reflective glass, and I guess I could hold it up to a bright light to check for a reflection. But is that the proper way to check for AR glass? Is there a more accurate way?

In my experience in having it cut to size at the glass store it's always a bit satin (for want of a better descriptive). It looks a wee bit hazy. That disappears when in the frame and against the picture. If it's glossy I don't think it's AR. Also, AR picture glass is very thin. Noticably more so than regular window glass.

It's basically frosted glass that dulls and flattens color under it. Anything I've had framed with it I've had reframed in clear glass. It stinks.
