I have a 16KW Generac generator. It is wired in with an automatic setup to turn the generator on/off as needed. It has a green light to see that everything is OK and a yellow light to indicate that something is needed. About a month ago the green light was on and the yellow light also turned on. My oil change was overdue so I changed the oil and filter. Both lights remained on. The generator is set to turn on and run for 10 minutes on Monday morning. It does turn on and run. So, now I am confused, why is the yellow light on? I appreciae any help and suggestions.

Don't have one but maybe you have to reset the light after changing the oil.

Check your Generac book.

My 16KW has a message display which tells you what the yellow or red light means. You have to reset the display/light after you perform the indicated task. Yellow can mean as little as checking the battery for corrosion. The generator will continue to function even if you don't perform the task or clear the light/message.

The control panel on mine has a 'maintenance' setting that require a re-set after the work is done.

BTW, many of the tasks you're notified about are calendar time or run time related and are intended as preventative maintenance, not problems.

I found the answer. First, the generator must be turned off. Then hit "enter", slowly hit "enter" again and then turn the generator back on. Then yellow light will then be off.

Sounds like resetting the tire pressure management system on my 2015 Ford Transit Connect. Hit the Emergency Flasher button on and off 3 times in less than 10 seconds. Let air out of each tire until the horn beeps. After the 4th tire, it's reset. But you now have 4 low tires to reinflate. Crazy systems. How hard is it to have a reset button? I'd gladly pay another $10.
