Sherwin Williams Solvent Pre/Post Cat Lacquer

I've decided to use SW solvent precat tinted to one of their colors. Anyone have experience with their product I have generally been using Mohawk's clear finishes. It will be an offwhite color and the rep told me that their high solids lacquers could provide an opaque cover with just one coat. Seems a little optimistic to me, what do you think? Thanks for the help.

I've never done any final finish in one coat. Be sure to adhere to their wet film thickness maximum. Are you doing panel doors? The junction of the panel and the rails and stiles can't have a heavy coat go into it because it can crack with seasonal movement.

In addition to Dick's comment, 1 coat may be fine on the flats, but you're likely to have issues with any profiles as the surface tension of the liquid may tend to starve away from the "sharp" edge as that will tend to dry faster than the flat surface next to it. Shellac will do the same thing creating a slightly thicker film line, sometimes called 'fat-edge'.
If you want an even film coating, I'd suggest several lighter coats. A production shop may look for 1-coat and out-the-door results, but you can take your time to get a better finish.

I suspected an exclusive agreement with rustoleum brands (and that may be part of it), but it appears from a year-old reddit that Lowes signed an exclusivity agreement with S-W for Minwax brands, and the suggestion from an HD-EE redit (I'm sure HD loves that their employees join reddit to speculate on internal matters) that Lowes carries their house brands and S-W "stuff" only.
I guess that simplifies supply agreements as well as eliminating the typical shopper who knows what's cheaper at lowes vs. HD.
