We use a thermal edge bander, but sometimes have to do work in the field, and then we use FastCap. I feel I get a better bond by block sanding (hard block, not cork or felt) with 100 or 120. I sand, just a swipe or two, ply, MDF or MCP. Instead of a J roller, I make my own mini veneer hammer. When filing the edge, I use a fine laminate file, then sandpaper the edge.

My Wurth group (brick and mortar) sells to the public, online needs an account.

FastCap is online, but sometimes is cheaper elsewhere. They do have a locator map with places in New Jersey.

Woodcraft carries both FastCap and Sauers veneer edge banding. Sauers offers PSA, hot glued and unglued banding.
