If you have or can make a router compass.

Find center.

Cut the outside circle measured to the inside of the cutter

Cut the inside circle measured to the outside of the cutter

Now since you're using 1/4" stock, you may have to make a mating ring to serve as a template guide for your profile bit's bushing. A piece of 3/4" MDF will serve nicely. Put your plastic over the MDF ring and fix with 3-4 pieces of carpet tape and you're good to go to do your profiling.

Just be prepared for the biggest mess you've ever seen. Corian routs into very light, static clingy chips that stick to absolutely everything and they defy cleaning.

Yeah. It is right up there with turning talc on the lathe. I've only done one piece, a smallish tabletop for an acquaintance and despite using the shaper with really powerful dust collection, it was definitely determined to put a stream into the air.

If you wish, and have the bit to do it, you can bond the Corian to the MDF with the tape and then cut through both to make a perfect guide template for your profile's bearing. Just make sure you place tape within what will be the ring so you don't lose registration.

BTW, it's gonna be messy!!! I'd try to do it outside

Another method would be to tape a sawn ring onto a MDF scrap screwed to the faceplate of a lathe. If you jigsaw out the middle, basically all you would be doing is cleaning up and cutting the profile.

How small is small ?

The big box stores sometimes have samples. Some top shops or cabinet shops might help.

Wurth Wood Group or Central Wholesale Supply might be nearby.

And then, last ditch, would be to order a sample, largest is 10 x 10 from Corian.

I guess, last ditch would be to order a full sheet, probably not what you want to do...

How big a piece of Corian do you need. Someone just threw away a countertop into the dumpster behind my office. I could fetch you a piece. It appears to be about a 1/4" or slightly thicker. It is white, but I do not know if it is really Corian, but it appears to be high density white plastic.
