Viewing inside closed cabinet

I needed to view inside the cabinet of a secretary desk to watch the action of an arm support mechanism after the lid was closed. I set up a cell phone on video and a small light. This allowed me to capture the image.

Great idea. I am endlessly amazed how often I use the smart phone camera. If having trouble reading a motor name plate, I just place the phone above it and shoot a picture. Then I can zoom in and read even the smallest stamped numbers. I bought some bead board paneling to wainscot a bathroom at Menards. Loaded up the two sheets, and no bar codes. So I snapped a picture of the product code and price, zoomed in for the cashier, and saved myself at least 5 minutes of her thumbing through a product binder. Great technology!

Yea, I could never do those things with my dial phone.

But you could do it with a 1940s 8mm movie camera and a flashlight. It would just take longer to see the results.
