Chairs for the kid's section of the library

I had four discs left over from the "kiddie condos".
I decided to make some small chairs for the kid's section out of them. I cut a chord off of the circles so I would have a flat surface. I repurposed some 1" thick poplar and used it for the seats and backs. The "kiddie condos" can be seen in back.

What did you use for paint and how applied? It looks so cherry and inviting.

They have a door and trim paint called "Snap Dry" that dries really fast.
I found the cushions on Amazon and got paint that more or less matched.
Curious, How did this happen?

This looks like a wonderful project and addition to the library. How did you happen to do this? Did the library ask for help? Did you do it and donate?

I am a member of "Friends of the Library". I bake cookies and such for the bake sale. My wife and I have "adopted" various authors - so that when their books come out, we give the library money so they can purchase the books - we also are the first to be able to check out the books.
I've been working with the librarian in charge of the children's programming and the children's section. I made a bunch of wands for the "Potterathon" when they showed all the Harry Potter movies. The librarian wanted little reading nooks so the children can have a place to read and hang out - that was the idea for the cushioned "Kiddie condos". I didn't want to waste the discs that I cut out - so I made chairs and bought matching cushions.

I would be a little concerned that the kids would roll them over and try to use them like rocking chairs and end up squashing fingers or banging heads into the floor. Without trying them out, I could not be sure that they are not very unstable when upside down.

The flat on the circle is big enough so that it can't be easily rolled backwards or forwards. The back sticks out enough so that it prevents it rolling when upside down. The librarians are pretty reasonable on supervising the children when they are in groups.
So I am not really worried about a child rolling it over to try and rock it.

That's good. I will rest easier now that I know you have investigated it. I mentioned my concern because I couldn't get there to perform an experiment in person.
