Oak Hardwood floor questions?

My cousin wants about eight hundred square feet of oak hardwood flooring, probably unfinished, at a reasonable price. Her research indicates it's hard to come by. Most flooring places don't stock it and when ordered in, it's five bucks a foot of more. I am out of touch with the market. Is that the going rate?
Any body got a source for something more reasonable?

I am replacing my floors. Prefinished oak runs $4.99/sq. ft. around here.

She said her local Lumber Liquidators did not have it and acted like nobody used it anymore. Basically unhelpful.
At about $4 a square foot It makes prefinished at $5 a SF seem like a better deal.

Barry, Hanover County Habitat for Humanity sometimes has flooring salvaged from houses they demo. It would have old finish and some damage but I'll bet it would be inexpensive if they have any. Metro Richmond HFH might have some too.
