I'm going to try and follow this thread. I've been trying to find something I can use to increase the volume for me but no impact what others hear. So far it seems like the units sending the sound cause a small sync. Something sort of like watching an old Kung Fu movie.

There are several Sennheiser products. That is part of my confusion. I need a headphone system that mutes the sound for others and I can have whatever level of sound I want. It is not obvious where to begin, especially with the wide price range. Does the type of tv matter, e g “smart” or not? Any help appreciated.

i've been using sony rf985r for many years - while my wife sleeps.

i don't think the tv brand matters - it's just a plug-in.

I just bought a Skullcrusher bluetooth headphones from Costco (also available from Amazon). Very comfortable and great sound. I did not compare them to any other specific headphones, just did some internet research.

I have a set and they are the focus of my tv watching. Can not live without them.. Only problem(Ha) is that the wife can not talk to me when they are on my head!! P

I bought a FM transmitter for $5 off ebay (China source) and use earbuds plugged into a small portable FM radio. I plug the transmitter into my stereo amplifier's headphone jack.
