Way OT: Broom Corn

Anyone know of a person or persons who grow small crops of broom corn? I would like to compare my method of bending over and securing the tops of the stalks when the seeds start to emerge, to keep the straws straight. Even better, I'd like to find a forum like WoodCentral where people exchange information and suggestions on growing broom corn. Thank you.

If you haven't already contacted some of the living history sites and re-enactment venues try them. Many of these places have broom makers and may be able to provide some resource contacts.

There are several places that I have been to when my children were younger. They were reconstructue old time villages. They grew broom corn and had broom making demonstrations. I don't remember their names but you should be able to hunt them down on line.

South Union Shaker Village in Kentucky grows broom corn and offers broom making demonstrations and
brooms for sale. Google them and go to their website for contact information.
