Township Fair Idea--Whirligigs, Weather-Vanes

This is an odd idea that I thought I would bounce around here. I am a director for a local agricultural society in Ontario Canada, and one of our main events is the local fair. We are always looking for new ideas. I was wondering if we would get any interest if we had a competition for whirligigs, weather-vanes, maybe even bird houses and mailboxes . They are things that could be mounted on poles around the site to increase the visual appeal of the grounds. This is just my idea yet, but we might provide a judge and prize money in exchange for a venue for clubs and individuals to show their work. Has anyone ever seen anything like this done? Does anyone know of any clubs in Ontario for people who make these things? I am thinking that it might provide project ideas for schools, 4-H clubs, Cubs, Scouts, senior's clubs etc.
