Over the span of a couple weeks I received 5 or 6 times an email offering "authentic 5 star reviews," for a price, to gain a clear advantage over other woodworking web sites. A reply to the email came back no such address. Of course, no address on the web site.
It will be even harder in the future for me to pay much attention to reviews.
Sounds like you got sucked into a fisching/malware site but your program may have blocked you from the access. If so, 6 points to Griffendo . . ah, your malware shield
Employing strong malware/virus protection is only part of a good defense. The other is resisting the compulsion to reply to or click on links or phone numbers sent from unsolicited sources. If I didn't initiate the contact, I never respond to anything that comes my way. Safer that way.
