Sequoia tongue and groove boards

I have an opportunity to salvage about 100 square feet of, I have been told, sequoia boards.

Eight feet long, some eight some five inches wide, 3/4 thick tongue and groove

A lot of the pieces have burl or lace grain pattern, probably dates from the seventies.

Looks similar to that.

I would use it mostly for boxes, humidors , maybe some musical instruments.

If you make a humidor you should line the interior with plastic or glass. I once made a humidor from the wrong type of cedar. The odor from the wood got into the cigars and ruined them.

Sequoia sempervirens is Redwood, or more precisely Coast Redwood. Giant Sequoia, Sequoiadendron giganteum, is protected by law, and also by its very nature. When they first discovered it, the loggers found out that when felled, the wood shatters, making it useless for lumber, so they stopped cutting them down, preserving the rare species existence.
