Makita vs Fein dust Extractor

Does anyone have any opinions on the Makita VC4710 vs the Fein Turbo II dust extractor? I am sick of loud and short lived Shop Vac products, and am considering a more premium unit. The appealing thing about the Makita is the low dB rating and the lower price. There are some mediocre online reviews for the VC4710 which mostly relate to its lower power; this is not a huge issue for me as I will be using the unit for general clean up . My bigger machines are hooked up to a cyclone dust collector. Also, my wife will be using it to clean up the dog grooming area, where a really quiet machine is very desirable. I am mostly looking for opinions on reliability.

I don't know anything about the makita, but I have both the ridgid WD1450 (have for more than ten years, still no issue with it and it's reasonably quiet) and the Fein turbo II (older generation, probably 6 years old or so).

I like both. with no clogging, the low noise cheap single stage type like the rigid works well. With fine dust or with tools attached, the fein works very well. No clue about the newer models.

The makita shows up on my screen as $500.

There is a large perceived quality difference between the fein and the ridgid, but one was $100, and at the time, I think the fein was $300.

I don't have dust collection in my shop (little power tool use, mostly hand tools), so the idea of having both isn't an issue.

The fein is about the best car vacuum I've ever seen, too. Strong pull even when restricted, and not much noise at the hose end where you're working.
