I have a Festool 1400 router I bought used. I did not get a collet wrench with it. I looked it up on the Festool site and it does not mention the wrench by size and it appears they don't send one with it. For such a nice machine, I thought a wrench would have come with it.

I have been using an adjustable wrench. Thankfully I had a metric one. I am reluctant to keep using the adjustable for fear of rounding off the collet nut. As near as I can tell the wrench should be 22mm. Is that correct? It's not a special Festool size is it?

They probably just haven't thought of that yet. But yes, the wrench that came with my 1400 is marked 22mm.

Probably one of my smartest tool purchases. Although I may have paid a premium, in addition to metric, mine also does British Standard Fine, Whitworth and SAE.

Lead Acid batteries. It's so old they weren't even sealed. It's almost impossible to keep it up right all the time to keep it from leaking. The batteries finally died and I could not find any that met the California standards so It's a plain manual model now.

I know it seems like a joke when someone mentions an "adjustable metric wrench".

But if you are buying a 24" adjustable, you will find there are Imperial versions that open to 2-1/2", and metric versions that open to 60mm. If you really need to tighten a 2-1/2" nut, the 60mm version won't open far enough.
