Last night I delivered this sheet music cabinet. This is a variation of a cabinet I completed in 2013.
I did not get interior photos-there are 4 adjustable shelves so the client can place music flat- or create a larger space for books etc...

The legs seem quite curved. Are they, or is it the foot-shape that make it seem so?

Legs are based on this cabriole leg profile:
There are many tutorials on fabricating these..... Essentially lay profile over the stock (cut the mortising joinery first) trace the profile, onto stock,cut out form on band saw. Tape those cut off piece back onto the stock-rotate 90 degrees-remark the profile-cut out again... when the waste falls away the 3d leg/foot is there-file,scrape and sand to shape.

Legs look a bit fragile from the grain but your brass work is getting better yet.

Yeah I'm still working out those proportions- This cabinet is a revision of one I made in 2013 seen here where the legs/feet turned out a bit clunky
Pretty sure I need to get my "line" to run through the center-
As faras the new cabinet goes-There are brass feet screwed and epoxied to the bottom of the feet-can't seem them because the lighting was dark and I was having a difficuylt time adjusting the settings on my camera...c'est la vie

to the older one. Thinking it through I recognize the challenge: with a much shorter leg a more exaggerated contour seems necessary to accomplish the esthetic goal. The profile you posted makes it clear there is the 'hidden' vertical column of wood necessary for strength.
But then I've got more 'reading experience' with cabriolet legs than actual building experience (17 sets so far).

Yes it was a pleasure getting to know this couple-They have wonderful relationship and it feels good to do work for people that appreciate the effort and results but just as if not more important -leave you wanting to be like them...
