delta 28-255 band saw

I'm looking at a Delta 28-255 bandsaw Platinum Edition. Does anyone here know what years this machine was made? Or where I can find the information. Google was no help. Maybe a Delta tools group?

manual doesn't give date of manufacture, just the publication date.

"Platinum Edition" was a marketing designation Delta used in the latter 1990s / early 2000s for versions of its classic US-made machines like the Unisaw and this bandsaw. I purchased my "Platinum Edition" 14 inch bandsaw in 2001. It's a very nice machine for it is.

But given the '90's when the tool companies were re-dressing their paint colors for marketing replete with spiffy decals to make you think you were buying something special. I suspect that the machine is the same as any other Delta 14" band saw, and any manual will be identical to any other generic booklet from Delta other, of course, for the congratulatory message on your distinct taste for quality for buying the Platinum edition.

sold 100’s of these saws in my Delta days.....great bandsaw. sold new for around $850.00 with a special sometimes less-a $50.00 rebate Delta of course is out of business and not much support for this unit today but not much to go wrong with this old battleship! Should be worth around $400.00 or so. good luck.
