Performax Drum Sander

Inherited a Performax S/T drum sander (16-32). Looking for an owner's manual or other info on how to set up and use. Electronic file (PDF) desirable.

I have had a Performax for 10 or more years. I have the manuel. If you are not satisfied with the download version let me know and I can copy mine and mail it to you.

Jet bought the 16/32 version and can be very helpful. The conveyor belt on mine failed and I bought two aftermarket versions and could not get them to track properly. One of those came from WoodCraft and they swore it was OEM. Apparently it was not. I spent hours working on it. I finally called Jet and the tech told me he wouldn't even try to help unless I bought a true OEM belt from Jet. I broke down and bought one at nearly double the cost of the others. When it came I was girded for battle and put the belt on. It ran true right out of the box. I was strangely disappointed and satisfied at the same time. Jet may be a good resource for you.

Jet has not been helpful. Haven't had any success doing a Google search.

Is your Performax stand alone. Mine is an attachment for a radial arm saw.

Somehow I don't think we are discussing the same thing. I have a stand alone Performax brand drum sander. I am not aware they ever made one as an attachment for a Radial Arm Saw. Performax sold the 16/32 version of their sander to Jet. They have come back with a upgraded version that is wider and under a different name. I can't recall the new name at the moment. I also have a Radial Arm Saw (Craftsman) and don't know how you would attach a 16/32 sander to it.

Barry,

Performax did make a sander for redial arm saws. It does not have a power feed as the stand alone models. Here is a picture. I have also include a link to the post that have other pictures

Wow! I never knew such a thing existed....

Did not spend a lot of time looking at it but I am left wondering how the drum stays parallel to the table and if the sliding table came with it. That is a fantastic machine to avoid buying a stand alone unit.

I am looking for a users/owners manual so I can figure out the setup.

Hi Tom,

I think I have what your looking for, I think it's about 25 years old. I'll try emailing it to you. There are separate manuals for the sander and the power feed. The power feed could be purchased separately back then.
