How will Titebond 1&2 hold up in a exterior application that is not exposed to rain but is in a sheltered location?
Re: Titebond Glue question
Bill Tindall, E.Tn.
I would recommend Titebond II for this application. It has been used for exterior doors.

Just use the glue they specifically made for being waterproof - Titebond 3
Re: Titebond Glue question
AZ in Colorado Springs
In '08 & '09 Wood magazine tested adhesives. They made a series of joints (butt, bridle, M&T, etc) with different adhesives -- titebonds, polyurethane, different brands), then bolted them to a rack. The rack went onto the roof of their building in Ames Iowa for one full year. I believe that also was a very wet year.
They reported, among other things, that titebond II performed about the same as titebond III.

Howie I don't believe ANY glue is waterproof. I think if you look closely at the I, II and III the only reference made are the words "water resistant", unless they have changed it.
I've been very pleased with Titebond I it's all I use but I don't make things for outside.
