Old cases for routers, etc.

I have a couple of cases for PC routers hanging around. I use one to store router parts in, the others just hang around.

I would love it if there was a means of recycling them - but our transfer station only takes screw cap containers in #1 (PET) and #2 (HDPE) and not #5 (PP). The recycling center down in Roswell only takes food containers of all types (which these definitely are not).

So what are your thoughts for disposal or re-use?

Do you have a 'Freecycle' page in your area?

I get/give things there at least once a month.

Facebook Marketplace or CL has free listings too.

One former drill box is now the home of all my shrink tubing and zip ties. A bit of die grinder customizing made a nice box

They might take it with the hope someone needs a case for their router.

JL, call your extension service. They may have some ideas. Our county "convenience centers" accept all kinds of plastics except polystyrene and plastic bags.

Everyone has them, few need them.

I did once have some tools stolen from the back of my truck - the one and only time I foolishly provided that opportunity. That was the only time a use for surplus tool cases occurred to me, but it was just an evil passing thought.
