New Home Office

I recently completed a renovation of our family room that included a new home office. Over 20 years ago I purchased some rough sawed hickory that has been stored in a detached garage ever since then. I was originally going to use it for kitchen cabinets. I found a local mill that would joint and plane the hickory down to a 3/4" finished thickness. They had lot of problems doing it, but I ended up with enough hickory lumber to make an office desk, hanging book shelf, a lateral file and two floating shelves. 
The desk is 6 feet long and 28" deep. The drawers contain supplies and out flat bed scanner.
The lateral file is 40" wide. The two floating sheleves are suspended with 3/8" steel rods, two per shelf, that go into the back of the shelf and also into the studs behind the wall.
The finish is a custom mix of two minwax stains and Deft Clear Brushing lacquer.
