Makita LS1013 problems

Haven’t posted in a LONG time. Retired 2 years ago and my 180 hay farm is about to kill me.
Anyway. Spent all morning squaring the cut on my LS 1013 and squaring upmthe blade. Went to calibrate the 45° Tilt and my saw will only tilt to about 52°. It’s got to be something stoopid. Manual says to turn the same 2 screws that I used to get the blade to 90°....but I’m kind of afraid to do that as I might knock my .90° off again.
