I have no information on that particular router but I will pass on this:

I have a Triton which come in 2.25 and 3.25 hp models, both of them have all the things you said the DeWalt does NOT have.

Dust Collection works very well, it's variable speed and also has a built in lift mech. operated with a drop in handle when mounted in a table.

When I purchased mine it came with a 1/4 and 1/2 collets, an attachable base with edge guide and a circle cutting base, I'm had it for about 6 years and has done what I ask of it without a problem.

I've never used one but have used sort of one part - the plunge base for P-C 89x routers appears to be a DeWalt 618 plunge base machined to fit the P-C motor. That base works much better than the P-C 690 base - much smoother plunge and dust collection works quite well. The 618 also has a pretty low center of gravity which is a plus. The only down side I've heard is that there's a ring magnet - part of the variable speed mechanism glued in that's prone to coming loose. I don't know if that production shortcoming was ever rectified or not.

I have the Dewalt 618 and a Milwaukee fixed base. Both are excellent tools. I used the Dewalt with a fence guide yesterday for mortises. I'm not even up to intermediate level, but it works well for me. Heck, I even bought a pair of Dewalt work boots this week and my feet love them. Quality pays.

I have 2 of the DW618PK kits, which contain both a fixed and a plunge base..

Both have seen regular use for nearly a decade without failure.

There is dust collection capability on the plunge base which works pretty well.
