Woodworking in Portugal and Spain

Hi,
After working hard in 62 years, my wife, cat and myself will move from Sweden to southern Portugal. We will bring one container filled with 10 ton hardwood plank (ash, oak, elm and pear), a workbench and some woodworking tool and machines.
I have made some googeling but found very little about woodworking in these countries. What have I missed?

I suggest you study their import laws on raw lumber. You will likely need certified paperwork to prove sterilization and kiln drying.

Sweden and Portugal have no visa controls

Sweden and Portugal are both part of the Schengen Area -- no visas, no import controls.
In practical effect Svente is doing the equivalent of moving from Vermont to California.

Probably less extreme than that -- California has a load of controls on transportation of plant materials and lumber might just fail to pass. I've had my car searched at the border to make sure that I didn't have contraband fruit inside.
That used to happen to my dad too...

He and another prospector would be traveling in and out of CA in the 1960's when they were camping and prospecting, and they would always get searched for fruit. The fruit cops would open the ice chest and find nothing but beer, steak, and baby ruth bars 
My dad had a reputation for looking guilty all the time, that story bears it out!
