WALNUT SHELF CLOCK

Shares features found in many tall case clocks.

SHOP OWNER: Mark Beckert

LOCATION: Hopatcong, NJ

My 23-inch-tall shelf clock is from black walnut, has "tombstone" windows on both sides. It features an 8-day key-wind Westminster chime along with a working moon phase dial.

The clock is my own design and took about 50 hours to complete. The front door has chamfered sides, the back door has a glass window to view the movement, the dial mat is birch, and is finished with several coats of linseed oil with a satin varnish topcoat. For better acoustics, I made the cabinet a little on the large side and it sounds great!
