TABLESAW EXTENSION ROUTER TABLE
Efficient dust collection plus plenty of storage for accessories.

After finally getting tired of my old router table and suffering from the same problem most woodworkers do, lack of space, I decided to incorporate a new router table into the right-hand extension of my cabinet saw. I included a drawer for bit storage and an enclosed space to store my hand-held router.

The dedicated table-mounted router, mounts in the table with a Router Raizer attachment, which is one of those things you wonder how you ever got along without! I handled dust extraction in two ways. There is a port in the table top, which pulls the dust away from the bit and down into the table, where a 4" port connects to my cyclone. I built my own fence, with an enclosed dust chute to direct the dust into the tabletop port, and used two pieces of High Molecular Weight Polyethylene for the faces attached to the fence, as it is very slick. I used "T" track and toilet bowl bolts for the featherboard hold-downs. All in all, it was a very satisfying project.
