Making a Coping Saw

by Wayne Anderson

Often, when I need a tool, I'll just make it. I made this coping saw out of beech, with handles I stole off a broken turning saw, but a few minutes on a lathe would have produced them, too.

If I were to do it again, I might go a bit lighter, this one is pretty stout, and will take a good bit of tension. Best part is, the blades are plentiful and cheap.
