Bandsaw Inserts

My Delta bandsaw has a 2½" insert so I took a correspondingly sized hole saw and drilled six holes part way thru a long board not much wider than the diameter of the hole saw. Pilot bit all the way through, but saw depth only about 1⁄8". Set table saw blade height to 3"and fence to a thickness the same as the original insert. I had to do a little trial and error on the first one to get the thickness right, but I then cut six in one fell swoop. Worked like a charm, perfect fit and cost nothing since all were from scraps.
