Bandsaw Inserts

by Doug Ridley, Paducah, Ky

My Delta bandsaw has a 2½" insert so I took a correspondingly sized hole saw and drilled six holes part way thru a long board not much wider than the diameter of the hole saw. Pilot bit all the way through, but saw depth only about 18". Set table saw blade height to 3"and fence to a thickness the same as the original insert. I had to do a little trial and error on the first one to get the thickness right, but I then cut six in one fell swoop. Worked like a charm, perfect fit and cost nothing since all were from scraps.
