Dimar Woodpecker Dado Review

One of the hidden real deals at this week-end's Victoria Wood Show is/was the Dimar Woodpecker 8" dado set for $99.95 ($85 USD) from M & D Wooland Ent in Norwood, ON. (877 778-5588).

Here's what's inside the foam-fitted aluminum case—just like a very expensive camera case!

Note the color-coded set of spacers, and the 516" thickness of the largest chipper. All carbide is massive. No scrimping anywhere.

Looks good, but how does it cut? In short, very well.

Here's the maximum width dado without spacers in red oak, maple, poplar, Baltic birch plywood, and…

…if you look at the Unisaw's green insert, Formica. All the edges are absolutely clean and chip-free—even the crosscuts and the Formica—and the bottoms are flat.

Amazingly good value.
