Acorn Designs
My journey to founding Acorn Designs was an unconventional one. Perpetually a “square peg in a round hole”, desperately searching for answers - the only certainty I came to know was the feeling of solace in art, nature and creative pursuits.
Diagnosed with ADHD later in life, it was as though every experience had been perceived through a fog that had finally lifted. With a newfound clarity, I found success on the “traditional” path but there was still something missing. Seemingly fighting against gravity itself, I couldn’t escape the need to create, to build, to pour my heart and soul into something tangible.
Through a perfect storm of financial uncertainty, no experience and a “half-assed idea” a coffee table was born. My newfound clarity evolved into 20/20 vision and today, Acorn Designs.
Each piece is a reflection of my journey, a deep respect for nature, authentic artistry and an ode to a forgotten time of heirloom craftsmanship.

C. R. Onsrud
The Onsrud family's machine manufacturing legacy, was born in the heart of the Chicago industrial core, and now spans 5 Generations. Oscar Onsrud and his son Rudy took manufacturing to a new level in 1915 when they built the world's first "Jet Motor" (air turbine) hand router. Since that day, the Onsrud family has become synonymous with cutting materials. And so has the entrepreneurial spirit. After honing his skills in his grandfather and father's business, Onsrud Machine Works, C.R. Onsrud founder, Charlie Onsrud headed south to bring the innovative thinking and skills to North Carolina. Like a piece of heirloom furniture, that same innovative spirit has been handed down to Charlie's sons, and grandchildren.
Virtually every aircraft built for the U.S. war effort in WWII had parts made on Onsrud routers. Most of those machines are still in use today! Almost every M-1 rifle stock built in the Springfield Armory was made on an Onsrud machine. It is difficult to walk through any major furniture plant worldwide without finding an Onsrud machine in service. In 1976 we raised the standard again when Charles Onsrud patented the "Inverted Router™", an idea and a machine that revolutionized the woodworking industry, increasing safety and usability. Today our CNC routers are quietly revolutionizing the concept of value by giving you the best-performing machines in the industry at a cost that our competitors say is not possible.
How do we do that? Through mass production and standardization, through modular construction and efficient design, we can supply 4000 inch per minute (ipm) speed, the rigidity of cast iron construction, "multi-drill" units, aggregates, saws, C-axis and 5-axis capability with multiple spindles on any of the many frame designs we offer. For the 4th year in a row C.R. Onsrud, Inc. has won the "Wood Digest Brand Preference" study!
When the Wood Working Machinery Distributors Association decided to honor the machinery manufacturer that most exemplified the type of company they wanted to represent, through quality and innovation, parts availability, overall value, and customer and distributor support, they created "The Partner of the Year Award" in 1994. Who won that very first Partner of the Year Award? C. R. Onsrud, Inc.! Yes! We have always done things differently and we're proud of it! That's what American leadership is all about!
As always, our competitors will someday offer the innovations we have already introduced, but you can have them today from the innovators - C.R. Onsrud, Inc.

Central c.n.c. Machinery Ltd
Central c.n.c. Machinery Ltd., was formerly Central Woodworking Machinery Co. Ltd., founded in 1962, in Huddersfield, and originally supplied a wide range of new and second hand traditional woodworking machinery.
In 1994, Central introduced the Elu CNC860 c.n.c. Router to their range, and sold a large number of these entry level c.n.c. machines for many different applications. Central continue to service and support this machine where possible, although it is no longer in production.
Following the success of the Elu machine, Central began importing a range of larger, flat bed c.n.c. routers, and began production of their own range of heavy duty c.n.c. routers in 1999.
Today, Central are the UK agents for Rensi c.n.c. Routers, offering a wide range of models with exceptional value for money. Many of the cnc routers Central now supply are used in the manufacture of orthotics, and Central supply machines, jigs, servicing, software support, cutters, etc., to many customers, including the NHS, for this specialised application.
Although the company name has changed to reflect the nature of the business, Central still supply a wide range of tooling and accessories for both c.n.c. routers and traditional woodworking machines, as well as new woodworking machinery.
Still a family business, Stuart Merewood, managing director of Central c.n.c. Machinery Ltd., is the son of Jack Merewood, one of the founders of Central Woodworking Machinery Co. Ltd. CNC

Hobby Hardwood Alabama
Hobby Hardwood Alabama is a #1 rated, full time, small, friendly, family owned sawmill and lumber operation specializing in producing some of the highest grade wood domestic and exotic lumber in the country, and are located in New Market, Alabama, just north of Huntsville. We don't sell the same low grade wood everyone else sells, we sell the best of the best. Our standard grade is at the top of the NHLA high grade scale, and our walnut two grades above. Typically, our wood is graded as Ultra Prime. We literally hand inspect every single board before it goes on the sales rack, and if it doesn't meet our standards, among the highest in the country, then we will fix it with our specialty tooling or cull it so you don't have to. Unlike many lumber stores who prohibit it, we allow and encourage "picking" or customers selecting just the pieces they want.
We sell about 47 species and cuts of the highest quality kiln dried and planed domestic and exotic hardwood lumber milled from trees harvested locally in North Alabama and Southern Tennessee, or from the highest grade suppliers across the country. We sell to businesses, hobbyists, craftsmen and professional woodworkers who want great wood for a great price. Serving New Market, Huntsville, Alabama, Tennessee and surrounding areas. We will sell one board at a time, if that's what you want. Come on by, take a look and you'll see some wood that will make your eyes light up.

James L. Taylor Manufacturing Co. Inc.
We have been designing and building woodworking machines in the Hudson Valley (New York) for over 100 years. If you have ever owned a Taylor machine, you already know us by our long-lasting machinery designs and our incredible dedication to customer service. If you haven't owned a Taylor machine, now is the time to experience the Taylor difference.
James L. Taylor established the James L. Taylor Manufacturing Company in 1911 to produce his patented quick-adjusting, self-locking bar clamp. This patented clamp was a significant step forward in the edge gluing of lumber. In the 1920’s, the Taylor revolving Clamp Carrier was developed and patented. It was a major first step toward mass production. In 1940 Taylor engineers developed the Panel Flo, a continuous feed edge gluing machine. From the very beginning, the Panel Flo was acclaimed as the answer to mass production gluing. In 1950 Taylor introduced the Panel Mint, a batch type semiautomatic edge gluer which filled the gap between the Clamp Carrier and the fully automated Panel Flo. During the 1950’s and 1960’s, Taylor designed new cost cutting accessories to compliment the Panel Flo and Panel Mint. These included the Conveyorized Glue Applicator, Mix-Mizer and Automatic Cut Off Saw. Also in the 1960’s, Taylor revived the Clamp Carrier design by introducing the pneumatic Clamp Tightener and Panel Flattener. During the 1970’s, the Taylor Panel-Mint was the machine of choice. This well designed Steam-Heated Batch Press matched with low cost urea resin glue was used by many furniture manufacturers to produce hardwood and softwood panels. Midway through the 1980’s, Taylor designed and produced the first Automated Clamp Carrier. This changed the direction of the Clamp Carrier line and made it the industry standard for edge gluing machines.

Lost Art Press
Lost Art Press LLC was founded in 2007 by two enthusiastic woodworkers, John Hoffman and Christopher Schwarz, while attending a Lie-Nielsen Toolworks Open House in Warren, Maine.
The company started with a question: What happened to all the great woodworking books that used to be published? The books that changed the course of the craft and people’s lives? The books that explored our ever-diminishing link to the handwork of previous centuries?
And so we founded Lost Art Press on these simple principles: Read more

Lucid Woodturners
Lucid Woodturners is a 'virtual' group of woodturners from around the world. We bring together turners who explore, refine and SHARE ideas, tools and techniques that advance woodturning, and make woodturning available to more people. The vision for this group is that it be about using technologies like video, computers, audio, lasers, 3D printing, and various other techniques to produce, share and teach woodturning. Kind of a hi-tech turners group. The group's mission is all about sharing. Remote demonstrations will certainly be a part of it because it uses computers to reach audiences that are not currently well served.

Lumber Capital Log Yard
Ken started Ironwood Acres as a residential tree removal business in 2005. The following years presented many trials including economic downturns & natural disasters. The business changed so much that at one time Ken was climbing problem trees at local properties, removing them from the top down…one limb at a time & at another time he was selling PA native trees & yet another time he was making mulch. All along he challenged himself to find ways to utilize every bit of each tree he took down. Firewood was one way to serve the communities needs & make good use of the products of residential tree removal. This led to the need for a large space to accommodate the growing firewood business which led to the purchase of the property where our lumber mill is located.
After making the decision to transition to logging, Ken made his first lumber mill purchase. A one-man operation, he often worked 80 hours per week. Logging all day followed by firewood & milling in the evening. The business grew and for several years we had employees who ran the mill & firewood processor.
As the children grew, Teri was able to bring the kids to the log yard after school. They eventually started to do chores together as a family…cleaning up, stacking campfire wood, stickering lumber, or just keeping daddy company. With growing minds & bodies the kids began to show their ability & interest in what was becoming a family operation. As parents Ken & Teri watched each one develop their own skills & move into their own place in production.
In June of 2019, Grampa & Tennessee moved in & things have never been the same! He built a huge greenhouse & a chicken coop. He renovated the old garage & put an addition on the house. His mechanic skills have allowed the family to learn how to repair equipment & his construction skills have afforded us the chance to learn how to build as well.
Now, Ken runs the logging operation Ironwood Acres Timber Harvest & Teri runs Lumber Capital Log Yard LLC with the girls as partners. Ken continues to challenge himself to create new ways to utilize all harvesting waste as do the girls at the log yard. Our charcoal & compost are examples of those solutions.
The family strives for personal as well as professional growth; looking to a future where they work smarter by continuing to upgrade equipment & improve the log yard property.
As icing on the cake…the girls hope to bring the area’s timbering past to life by preserving a touch of the location’s history & even showcasing historical logging artifacts!

Lyle Jamieson
Introducing a groundbreaking approach to woodturning, Lyle embraced the challenge of mastering multi-axis hollowing techniques to perfectly capture the intricate shapes bestowed by nature. As a woodturner, this journey begins with a connection between the woodturner and their medium, where the wood’s grain elegantly complements the human form’s curves. For Lyle, woodturning is not just a skill; it’s a way to express creativity, bringing warmth and life to the wood. There’s something truly special about blending the natural charm of wood with the human touch, creating pieces that feel alive and full of emotion.

Minnesota Woodworkers Guild (MNWWG)
The Minnesota Woodworkers Guild is a group of professional and amateur woodworkers bound together by three goals:
- to advocate high standards in our craft

The Guild hosts monthly educational meetings, offers an annual Fall Seminar, Woodworkers Expo and sponsors the annual Northern Woods Show, an exhibition of fine woodworking. We welcome membership by all woodworkers, regardless of what they build, their level of skill, style of work, or their profession.
Our goal is to encourage the highest standards in woodworking, while allowing each of our members to grow at their own pace, from whatever level of skill and accomplishment they begin with.
Simply put, we want each of our members to become the best woodworker they are capable of, and to enjoy telling their Guild friends about it along the way.

Welcome everyone to this woodworking community. I am so excited to share a little about myself so you can understand why I do what I do. I live in a small town in Kentucky where I was born and raised. I am first and foremost a husband to my wife Laura and father to 4 amazing children. I was a nurse for 15 years before transitioning to a full-time woodworker and content creator. I guess you could say I’ve been a builder and maker from the start…. I was that kid who asked Santa for lumber and tools instead of toys…The kid that loved the outdoors so much I had to be made to come inside. That passion grew along with me…and now my goal is to share it with the world by creating content to learn from, motivate, and simply let people know… “You’ve got this!”

Men's Shed
Discover a place to connect, a community to belong to & mates that make it all worthwhile. Not all Men’s Sheds are the same. If you looked inside you might see a number of men making furniture, perhaps restoring bicycles for a local school, making Mynah bird traps, fixing lawn mowers or making a cubby house for Camp Quality to raffle. You might also see a few young men working with the older men obtaining new skills and learning something about life from the men with whom they work. You might see local elders making traditional weapons or designing arts and crafts. You will see tea-bags, coffee cups and a comfortable area where men can sit and talk. You will probably also see an area where men can learn to cook for themselves or how to contact their families by computer.

Omni Calculator
In a surprisingly large part, our reality consists of calculable problems. Should I buy or rent? What's my ideal calorie intake? Can I afford to take this loan? How many lemonades do I need to sell to break even? Often, we don't solve these problems because we lack knowledge, skills, time, or willingness to calculate. And then we make bad, uninformed decisions. Omni Calculator is here to change all that:
We are working on technology that will make every* calculation-based problem trivial for anyone to solve.

Rockler
The history of Rockler Woodworking and Hardware goes back to 1954, when Norton Rockler started the Minnesota Woodworkers Supply Company in north Minneapolis. It was a small mail-order business with a big aspiration – to become woodworkers' go-to resource for everything they need to complete their projects.
Since then, we've grown into an industry-leading woodworking and hardware source with a nationwide chain of stores and international reach through our catalogs and website. In many ways, a lot has changed. We've continuously added to our offerings as woodworking technologies have advanced, and we're constantly working to bring the industry's most innovative products, thinking and education to our stores and website.
But in other important ways, much has remained the same. Throughout our history, Rockler has been a family-owned business – and in business, as with family, relationships are important. We still work with many of the same vendors whose products appeared in our catalogs decades ago. And we still strive to establish connections with you, our customers, that extend well beyond mere financial transactions. We want you to know that we're invested in your success. You can count on us for the products, advice and encouragement you need to finish your projects, and you can count on us to stand behind the things we sell. As our founder wrote in the introduction to a 1988 catalog, "Our commitment to you doesn't end when the package arrives."
We're also committed to the future of woodworking, DIY, and the natural resources that make woodworking possible. That's why we strive to provide "green" products, to emphasize recycling and to support sustainable forest growth through the Hardwood Forestry Fund. We're particularly gratified that Rockler has been named the 2014 recipient of the Forestry Fund's Gifford Pinchot Award in recognition of the company's "significant effort to plant hardwood trees in America."
So as we celebrate our rich history, we look forward to many more years in the shop with you. Our goal still is to be your go-to DIY resource – for everything you need to build both your projects and your confidence.

The Oak Factory
Originally established as a keg business, our focus soon shifted to the production of 59-gallon American white oak wine barrels sourced from our backyard of Central and Northern Missouri. In 2000, Silver Oak became a 50 percent partner and together we invested in sustainably forested Missouri timberland to maintain long-term barrel production. Fifteen years later, Silver Oak acquired full ownership, recognizing “an opportunity to maintain exacting barrel-making standards and secure a consistent supply of aged stave wood,” according to Tony LeBlanc, Silver Oak General Manager. “The flavors and textural components of American white oak from Central and Northern Missouri are the perfect balance of spice and vanilla flavors to complement the black fruit character of our wines.” Today, we maintain a laser-like focus on the quality and consistency of our classic 59-gallon American oak wine barrels, while also producing a small number of American and French Oak barrels for the whiskey and bourbon industries. Each barrel is handcrafted by a team of highly skilled, hard-working men and women who preserve and advance the time-honored craft of artisanal barrelmaking.

Tools For Working Wood
Tools for Working Wood began in late 1990s as part of the Museum of Woodworking Tools, a virtual, on-line museum with exhibits about tools and their social context. It was the early days of the Internet and the museum was one of the first virtual museums on the web. Like all great museums, the Museum of Woodworking Tools had a gift shop. Initially the gift shop sold only Museum mugs, but slowly the Museum began to carry spare parts of Stanley planes, and then fine reproduction of classic planes. Tools for Working Wood was born.
The late 1990s and early 2000s experienced a resurgence of classic woodworking tools, and the new Tools for Working Wood expanded its selection of woodworking tools from all over the world. But in time being a vendor - even a vendor of the very best tools - was too limiting. We wanted to make and sell our own tools too. Tools for Working Wood created two award-winning tool lines: Gramercy Tools and BT&C (Brooklyn Tool & Craft). The Gramercy Tools line, which includes dovetail, sash, veneer, bow and carcase saws; finishing brushes; saw vise; riffler and cabinetmaker’s rasps; and patented holdfasts, are sold all over the world by fine tool sellers, but in the USA only by Tools for Working Wood exclusively. Our BT&C line, which features planing stops, brushes, shellac, spots, the versatile hardware saw and a range of nails, is carried by other tool sellers in the USA and overseas. We look to expanding both lines to bring innovative solutions to woodworking. That’s basically our goal in creating and operating Tools for Working Wood: bringing solutions to woodworking challenges, so you can do your best work and have fun doing so.
We invite you to join our community of dedicated craftspeople, building things with our hands, passing on traditions and learning from each other. We aim to provide the best tools with the best customer service. If you’re in the New York area, come visit our showroom and play with the tools in person. If you’re not, shop on-line or give us a call. We’d love to hear from you.

Tyler Brown Woodworking
I loved to build things from an early age starting with Legos and now progressing to woodworking. My journey down the path of woodworking started with my son who needed a crib and bedroom suite before he arrived. I luckily got it done in time with minimal tools and it has held up now for 2 kids and will hopefully last a few generations. The reason I created this site and YouTube channel is to share with you the projects and plans I create for my own personal use. I don’t claim to be a professional woodworker or know everything about the craft but I do my best to learn from my mistakes and get things done. I hope you enjoy the content and builds while finding the available plans helpful in becoming more productive in your woodworking hobby!

Zen Wu
We make tools on the belief that modern technology, applied carefully, can extend traditional designs rather than replace them. We work with materials earlier toolmakers did not have: steels that hold an edge longer, alloys that resist rust, bodies that damp vibration and tolerate humidity. These do not change what a tool is or how it cuts. They let it last longer, and hold up under conditions that would wear out its predecessors.
Wuhan is one of the most industrially dense cities in the world, a manufacturing anchor that serves aerospace, medical, rail, automotive, and heavy-industry supply chains. Our workshops are here because this is where the specialty steels, EDM cutting, aerospace-grade material, and robotic heat treatment all sit within an hour's drive. We run about seventeen people, fewer than ten EDM machines, fewer than ten large CNCs. Small enough to prototype in a week; large enough to make production reliable. We like it this way. Some of what we sell is expensive, and on the most expensive ones, the margin is zero, and on several of them we sell at a loss. The price won't cover the research, just the people doing the work. The most demanding tools we make inspire our daily work; and, we hope, some of yours.
