@Big Ry requested some plans for simple puzzles. I have a bunch, but some were copied from books or online sources, and I don't hold the copyright, so I'm probably not really allowed to distribute them. But I do have several that I came up with myself. Anybody who feels like using these is more than welcome to do so.
All of these started out as designs that I doodled on oddly-shaped scraps of wood that seemed too large just to toss out. I put them together into this...
I want to make a shelf with very thin boards, about 20" x 6". I figued I would make a dado or groove and glue the shelf part with two simple supports underneath. How thin can I make the back portion "A" and then also how thin can I make portion "B"? Also, if I use osage orange or a harder wood can I make things thinner than normal while still being structurally sound? Thanks!
I have a chunk of Olive wood that I would like to turn in to a Spoon Rest. Pictured is the chunk of wood, and a store purchased Spoon Rest from many years ago. What tool(s) might you recommend to tackle this project? I do not own any power grinders. Yet! Thanks! Chuck
There is a loft above and I will try to get a completed shot as it will make a lot more sense. There is another level of finish to the top. @arn wanted to look at this kitchen a little more. When I return home, I will try to get my tablet and collect a few completed photos. I likely even have the basket picture on there.
This is a shot of the countertop I took for my wife and a wide shot of the kitchen.[ATTACH...
It's getting so be time to start my vegetable plants. I start them in the house around the first of March and always run out of room before it's warm enough to move them outside. We don't have enough sunny windows so grow lights are a big help. I would like to build some shelves with grow lights which of course would be a pretty simple task. The hard part is I would like the whole thing to easily be disassembled for storage in the attic. I've got plenty of wide pine boards for shelving, I...
I am looking for a pattern on creating this wood quilt with individual pieces glued together. I am new to wood quilts and not sure how to go about trying to create this. I know how to make the 3d star pattern but not sure about the "frame" of the tree. Once I get the frame made then I "think" I could create the pieces to fill in but any help or guidance would be great...
Started here to stop spamming post we were talking in. @Arn213 and I probably over did it there.
Less critical with time. NO WAY. As a sub contractor, a wall and ceiling contractor i felt we continually had to raise the bar.
If the plumbing did not look perfect but worked as intended nobody cared. Perfect example , my MB bathroom. We just finished re doing it. Plumbing worked great but plumber was an artist at doing bare minimum. Which added considerbly to the work and 4...

My son is building a couple of end tables that will have granite tops. For whatever reason, when he dropped the granite slab into the first one, it was proud of the wooden frame. Same with the second one, unfortunately. I suggested to him that he could rout out the plywood that supports the slab, but Iβm unclear on how best to do this. He needs to lower the plywood about 1/16β. If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate it! Pics show wooden frame without, and with the granite slab...
