I put together a system like Trent’s a couple of years ago. I used a 7” backup camera display, a camera that a drone would use and a 12V transformer to power it all. Way better than the laser setup and all for under a hundred bucks!

I put a piece of clear plastic over the display and use dry erase marker to outline the tool. When I change tools, a quick wipe with a paper towel clears the old marks and I juts redo the outline of the new tool. Easy peasy.
