I've used the accent line method to disguise joins. In this case I decided against it. Some of the people I showed it to couldn't see the join even when I pointed it out.
Also, it might have been difficult to cut a perfectly concentric circle on the bottom due to the way I hold something long with a central hole like this for reversing - turn a cylinder for a jam chuck. It's quick and easy but without a lot of effort the end can wobble a bit which usually doesn't matter much for a quick cleanup on a simple, slightly convex bottom like this.
