The "turner's finish" that's just shellac (seemingly) in a solvent that I can't quite identify is a bit soft, the handles are dull, but they should be handled hard in use, anyway, and waxed from time to time.

One of these laid on my desk (not of this group) and got just a bit damp around the bolster area and rusted quickly. warms my heart to see that (but I already know they're extremely plain steel).

Not being a traditionalist, not sure how they'd hold up with a flat bevel, but there's plenty of expensive chisels out there for folks lacking creativity to practice "tool accommodation".
