Subject:
dovetail saws recommendation

dovetail saws ()

I have taught dovetail classes for our club. I find the occasional student that struggles with a wester saw, tries a Japanese pull saw, and does much better. So, somehow determine if you are a pusher or a puller.

If you are a pusher I suggest starting with the Lee Valley saw. It costs a fraction of a fancy saw price and functionally is as good as it gets. I have a steady diet of drawer making. I dovetail enough that I could justify owning any saw. I have come to prefer the LV saw.

Always be wary of teachers selling their stuff. It will mostly be better for their wallets and not your needs.
