Thanks, Paul! Their proportions more or less are stolen from English chisels, which I guess are stolen from other chisels, etc. It's just a matter of how much is in the bolter/tang and how much at the bevel end. These are a little heavier, but not heavy by current chisel standards.

In my opinion, a good English chisel is as good as can be had and better in use than much of what's being sold now. If I could match them, I'd be perfectly happy with that!

Nice sets are still out there in droves in England as cheap or cheaper than anything good new, too.
