Thanks, John. I've seen that term elsewhere, but never heard it in public. The interesting thing about the chakte viga is that one side of a blank will be filled with it, and the other side will look like a rake handle. Hard burnishing of oil and beeswax seems to bring the color out better than the same with shellac followed by/lubricated with wax.
