Chakte viga Caesalpinia platyloba is sometimes called Mexican pernambuco because it is closely related to the true Brazilian pernambuco Caesalpinia echinata. They work very similarly and the depth of color is quite similar. In the bow trade we use the word chatoyancy to describe that depth of color which can be quite beautiful. Like your wonderful chisel/handle combination! Super!
