Fact: if you have to renew waxing the wax is rubbing off in the saw kerf.

You could not see the amount of wax that would keep a water based glue from bonding. It would only take one molecular layer.

However, as pointed out below, the cut is not smooth. Transfer would seem to only occur on the high parts. So, wax transfer from a waxed and polished saw plate probably not important.

Never-the-less I avoid use of any hydrophobic material where it could transferred to a surface to be glued.
