Subject:
Waxing saw blades

Bill Tindall, E.Tn.
It was mentioned in a previous post to wax a saw blade that is bindy cutting dovetails.

If this wax needs restoring it follows that some is rubbed off in the kerf. A wood surface with any wax residue will not be thoroughly wet by a water based glue. The strength of the joint will be compromised. I don't recommend waxing any saw used to prepare a mating joint that will be glued.
