One more data point. This is a cap iron I made for my coffin smoother. The profile follows the cap iron of an old E A Berg iron I have and like in my fore plane. This low primary angle with a small rounded edge is really what I prefer for wooden planes, they feed a lot better than with a big rounded front end of the cap iron.

It seems like it is less sprung than yours Dave, or the screw is more tightened. It is for sure enough, it stays set, no shavings creep in and it adjusts well.
