220 grit psa roll with finger pressure right in the center of that raised area. Slow firm strokes (lots of pressure) all in the same direction (probably forward) to avoid rocking the iron.

Attack it with that until you get uniform scratches on a diagonal to the iron face, then rotate the iron slightly (20 degrees is enough and do a few strokes to ensure the pattern starts to switch across the entire face)

Then once it does, light figure 8s with finger pressure in the middle and you'll be able to go directly to a middle stone.
