Thanks for the pictures. I tell if there's any hollowing of the back, though. Did you do that to this chisel?

I never used a microscope before doing all this stuff with a buffing wheel, so I can't say for sure whether I had issues with a tiny remaining burr back then. (The stuff I can see with the microscope is much more detailed than what I was able to see previously, with a 30x loupe.) I previously used a bare leather strop after a Shapton Pro 12000 and that improved sharpness a bit (when I used a paper cutting test), which leads me to believe that I wasn't fully removing the burr before.
